The District at Tustin Legacy

Tustin, CA

The District at Tustin Legacy hired me to create a tribute to the history and natural beauty of Orange County in an expansive 3,000 square-foot mural. This extraordinary project was sponsored by my partner Behr Paint and together we worked to create a beautiful palette representing the OC.

From the ocean's depths to the towering mountains, and paying homage to the legacy of flight in Tustin, this mural is a vivid expression of my artistic vision. Our journey began with a memorable Community Paint Day Mural Event, where over 100 adults and children joined me to bring this monumental canvas to life.

As the project evolves, the mural expands beyond the walls, even reaching onto the ceiling, marking the first phase of this ambitious three-part endeavor.

Phase 1

Community Paint Day

Phase 1 started with an incredible day at the Tustin in District's Community Paint Day Mural Event! I led over 100 adults and kids came to paint the lower half of my mural, showcasing our community's artistic spirit. Navigating the intricacies of such a large project and managing the enthusiastic participation of hundreds was no small feat, but the results were beyond rewarding.

Phase 1 is now complete, providing the foundation for what's to come. Currently extending a third of the way to the ceiling, I'm working on adding intricate details and layers of creativity to this evolving artwork. Stay tuned for further updates as each phase unfolds, capturing the essence of our community stroke by stroke.

Final product

I'm pleased to announce the successful completion of my three-part Tustin mural project, which involved a dynamic journey with Behr Paint Company and Vestar. The first phase brought together a vibrant community paint day with over 100 participants from Irvine County. The second phase was marked by hours of meticulous painting work, where I personally covered every inch of the walls, even extending up into the ceiling. 🖌️ The final phase added the essence of Orange County with typography, personality, and diversity.
