Legacy in Color
The District at Tustin Legacy | Tustin, CA
Project Overview
The District at Tustin Legacy, in the heart of Orange County, sought to commission a landmark mural that would celebrate the region’s natural beauty, aviation history, and vibrant community spirit. They approached me to design and lead this ambitious 3,000-square-foot project, sponsored by Behr Paint.
My Role
As the Lead Artist and Creative Director, I was responsible for:
Designing a mural that honored Orange County’s essence—from ocean to mountains, to the legacy of flight in Tustin.
Engaging the community through an inclusive mural painting event.
Delivering a multi-phase installation that would expand across multiple surfaces, including the ceiling, while working under tight timelines.
Phase 1 Community Paint Day
Phase 1 started with an incredible day at the Tustin in District's Community Paint Day Mural Event! I led over 100 adults and kids came to paint the lower half of my mural, showcasing our community's artistic spirit. Navigating the intricacies of such a large project and managing the enthusiastic participation of hundreds was no small feat, but the results were beyond rewarding.
